Ain’t it keen?
This should be easier to read and put emphasis back on the text. It was time to say goodbye to my beloved Trebuchet (sorry Philocrites) and say hello to Helvetica. The chutney jars are back on the shelf. There’s even a new favicon—you’ll probably need to do a hard refresh to see it.
The theme is by Upstart Blogger. I’m really impressed by the work he’s done under the hood on this one. It’s very simple, very clean. There are only 30 or so CSS selectors! (Most of the themes I’ve worked with have had closer to 100 or more. Very confusing.) There was very little I needed to modify, and finding things was a breeze. If you like, he’s got four more themes on his site.
Hey, thanks very much for the mention. Glad you like the theme!
This one is nice, though I LOVED the your old one.

I tend to prefer white background with dark text, so I’m digging this a lot.
Loves it! I love that little collection of chutneys too!
This looks *awesome*… so hip, so rad!
:-)
I have to say that this is partly Hafhidha’s fault. I was digging on that theme.
Except I think that when you “bail” hay, you are throwing it out of a boat. Most people “bale” hay. I’m not sure how you do it out there in Atlanta. I’m willing to be educated about Southern ways.
In case you think my previous comment is nutty, it pertains to one of the randomly-appearing bylines under the “Making Chutney” headline. I tried to find it again to copy it into the comment but couldn’t.
PS. I really do like the new look.
Doh! I’ve been caught!
That one’s a line from “Georgia on a Fast Train.” “I got all my country learnin’/ Milkin’ and a churnin’/ Pickin’ cotton, raisin’ hell and balin’ hay.” There’s another one from that song too but I can’t bring it to mind…
I put it in for my dad, who picked cotton on the off season as a kid. (They were very poor dirt farmers.) But this suburb-raised Okie wouldn’t know how to bale hay if it walked up and licked him. (That’s what hay does, right?)
Yeah, they rotate randomly. It’ll pop up again eventually.
So it’s not in some Southern mariner’s job description, eh?
Hay is so flammable. If you have it on your boat, it’s probably a good idea to bail it out.

And then there’s the phrase “drowning in hay.”
I like it. Cleaner, easier to read. And to be honest, the chutney looks far more interesting and attractive now. I better start dinner.
Me likey. But it makes me hungry! : )
Very nice, sir.
Whoo hoo! I’m partly responsible for something!
Off to eat some chutney right now!
Easy there. Don’t make my wife jealous.
