I just heard from Westport Unitarian. The church office says Martha Stewart doesn’t attend there.
Any other leads? I need confirmation soon, or I’ll have to drop her from the poll.

Can’t find anything I’d call definitive. There’s an Oprah Winfrey quote saying she was seen attending a Roman Catholic church in the days before her trial, and a book on “the 100 most influential women of the 20th century” lists her as Catholic. All I can say for certain is that she grew up in a Polish-American family in New Jersey and attended church as a child. What church? Couldn’t say without significantly more intrusive research. I won’t say she goes out of her way to avoid discussing religion, but it does not appear to be a big part of her life.
Speaking of celebrities who may or may not be Unitarian Universalist – do you know anything about the actor Andre Braugher? I have seen him on UU Lists before, but I can’t find anything more about it – not even a source for where that info comes from. I believe he lives in a suburb in New Jersey, but that’s it. He’s one of my favorite actors, so I was just curious.
Other than seeing his name on one of the Famous UU lists floating on the web, nada. He isn’t on the currently maintained list at http://famousuu.net . He seems to be actively involved in social justice for Africans (African-Americans? The quote from him just said Africans,) but other than that, I’m getting nothing. Something about praying for social justice. My Google Fu seems to be very weak this week. Either that, or the information I’ve been looking for just isn’t there to be found. Hard to say which. (Odd that one of the web sites took time to mention how his last name is pronounced. How many ways are there to pronounce Braugher?)
Thanks, James. I have to admit, years ago when I was first watching Homicide: Life on the Streets, I didn’t know if it was Braw-wer, or Brow-wer, or Braw-ger, or Brow-ger. I used to call him Braw-ger (I was still a teenager) but in the last few years call him Brow-wer. I don’t know why I changed. I must have come across another name that was similar, or heard his name said in a commercial.
