I don’t get it. But that doesn’t mean much.
Nothing says fine dining quite like a clown. And why a “live clown?” Is that to set this clown apart from the previous clown?
In all honesty, I don’t get it either. I guess we’re just not the target demographic for this particular Denny’s promotion. But who is?
Wait, wait. I’ve got it!
The target demographic is “live clown kids.” Apparently they like to eat a dish call “Tuesdays.”
It takes all kinds…
They’re serving live clown. They keep them in a small car in the entrance. You pick out the one you want, and they cook ’em up the way you want ’em. Fresher than the frozen clowns.
Kids, of course, eat free on Tuesdays.
So “clown” is plural, just as lobster is in “live lobster.” It may be fresher, but the fozen clown are sure as hell quicker.
Do they only have live clown from 4 to 10?
Well, it’s kind of a “catch of the day” thing. The the clown trawlers, after having gotten underway long before dawn, return just after noon and the day’s catch is sorted and then loaded into clown cars for delivery to local markets and restaurants.
It’s a popular menu item, so it’s not unusual to warn customers it’s unlikely you’ll find live clown after 10.
I used to enjoy mine with drawn butter, but the damn cholesterol.
